This learning from reporting section, taken from Quarterly Data Summary Issue 14, looks at how and why we need to improve the quality of data reported to the Reporting and Learning System (RLS).
In September 2009, the NRLS published the first edition of the Data Quality Standards. The standards provide guidance to NHS organisations about the reporting of PSIs and how to improve the quality of that data.
This article provides an outline of the standards and highlights actions to take to implement the standards.
