A set of Data Quality Standards have been developed to improve the quality, accuracy and timeliness of patient safety incident data submitted to the Reporting and Learning System (RLS).
The standards are aimed at NHS staff (such as risk managers and governance managers) responsible for submitting patient safety incidents to the RLS via local risk management systems or eforms.
The NRLS is recommending that all NHS health care organisations comply with the standards to help ensure consistently high quality reports which inform the development of patient safety guidance.
